DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Aviation Civil Engineer/Project Manager, based in our Lakewood, Colorado office, to lead aviation infrastructure projects across Colorado and beyond!
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our aviation practice in Colorado, working closely with regional leadership to expand our impact and capabilities. This is a strategic leadership opportunity focused on:
  • Championing project excellence across planning, design, and construction
  • Building and nurturing client relationships to strengthen our market presence
  • Leading talent recruitment and team development to support long-term success
  • Shaping and executing a business growth strategy aligned with regional goals

This role is ideal for a visionary leader ready to make a lasting mark on aviation infrastructure in the Rocky Mountain region.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lead airside and landside infrastructure projects from concept through construction
  • Serve as a senior technical expert and client liaison
  • Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules while ensuring quality and safety
  • Drive business development and help grow our aviation footprint in the region
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of innovation and inclusion

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of aviation engineering experience
  • PE License in Colorado required
  • Strong knowledge of FAA Design Circulars and airfield geometric layout
  • Experience with airfield pavements, hangars, utilities, and airport support facilities
  • Strong understanding of FAA Design Circulars and Construction Specifications, and a background in geometric layout of airfield facilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $131,000 to $228,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
