About the Role:

The Senior Audio-Visual Technology Specialist is responsible for providing technical sales support, system design consultation, operational leadership, and project oversight for Audio Visual projects. This position serves as the primary liaison between clients, the IT Sales team, AV Engineering, and AV Operations to support business development, ensure successful project execution, and drive departmental growth. The Senior Audio-Visual Technology Specialist provides subject matter expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from opportunity identification and solution development through installation, commissioning, and client satisfaction.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the IT Sales team by identifying opportunities, conducting client needs assessments, and providing technical expertise for Audio-Visual solutions.
  • Meet with customers to evaluate site conditions, operational requirements, and project objectives, including conducting site surveys and walkthroughs.
  • Develop preliminary system designs, budgets, scopes of work, and technical recommendations that align with customer requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and present proposals while serving as the primary liaison between clients, IT Sales, AV Engineering, and Operations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and support before, during, and after installation to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Research and recommend new technologies, products, and service offerings to enhance customer solutions and support business growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, architects, designers, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Directly supervise, coach, mentor, and develop AV Project Specialists, Project Managers, and Integration Technicians.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard AV personnel in accordance with company standards.
  • Oversee AV operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Develop departmental budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, resource allocation strategies, and operational metrics.
  • Manage project schedules, costs, risks, billing activities, change orders, and project documentation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with customer requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in project, customer, and construction meetings as required.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be substituted.
  • 7+ years of Audio-Visual industry experience, including system design, implementation, project management, or operations leadership.
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-level Audio Visual projects and customers.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial Audio-Visual systems, conferencing technologies, collaboration platforms, control systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Experience developing scopes of work, system designs, budgets, estimates, and technical proposals.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and project personnel.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and customer relationship management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, technical documents, and system schematics.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.
