CHG Healthcare is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our DMO Engineering team. The Engineering team designs, builds, and maintains the technology platforms and software solutions that power CHG's staffing and healthcare businesses. As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor across the team, driving high-quality software delivery, architectural decisions, and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain production software
  • Apply design principles consistently across build, review, and test to produce maintainable, high-quality software
  • Leverage AI tools across the full development cycle with the judgment to critically evaluate and own AI-generated output
  • Contribute to system architecture discussions and apply mature design patterns to build highly available, resilient, performant, and secure systems
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring alignment with design goals
  • Collaborate with product and stakeholders across product development, aligning on scope and business value
  • Identify and address technical debt that impedes team velocity and quality
  • Drive technical refinements, breaking epics and stories into executable tasks

Qualifications

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, high agency and systems thinking; business acumen and product judgement
  • Typescript programming and the TS ecosystem (e.g. NodeJS, turborepo, pnpm)
  • Postgres database development and data modeling
  • Message brokers (Kafka), pub/sub, Redis
  • Docker and k8s
  • Stakeholder Communication - communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders on scope, approach, and business value

Education & Experience

  • M.S. / B.S. in Computer Science or related STEM discipline
  • 5+ years of proven experience at Sr. Software Engineer level

Preferred

  • Experience with React, Typescript Effect, oRPC, Hono
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with Snowflake

We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $130,500 -- $252,300 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. During the hiring process, your recruiter can provide more information about the specific salary range for the job location.

CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
