Job description

Description:

Lima One Capital is one of the nation's premier lenders to residential real estate investors, and our Accounting team sits at the center of that growth. We are seeking a technically fluent Senior Accountant I who is as comfortable architecting an efficient data workflow. This role owns key pieces of our monthly close, financial reporting, and reconciliation work in a fast-paced, high-volume real estate lending environment, using our modern AI-embedded ERP (Campfire) as the operational backbone.

Beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, you will be expected to connect and optimize the broader technology ecosystem, including Campfire, Snowflake, Tableau, SQL, Claude, and Shortcut. Your focus will be on creating scalable, integrated solutions that reduce manual effort, eliminate data silos, and enable the team to spend more time delivering insights rather than moving data.

If you combine strong accounting fundamentals with intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a passion for using technology to modernize financial operations, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for someone who brings integrity, a strong work ethic, confidence in driving change, and excitement for helping build the future of accounting through automation and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Serve as a power user of the Campfire ERP, leveraging its embedded AI capabilities to process transactions, maintain the general ledger, and execute close activities
  • Design and maintain workflows that connect Campfire, Snowflake, Tableau, and AI tools (Claude, Shortcut) so data flows cleanly between systems without manual rework or duplicate entry
  • Write, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries against the Snowflake data warehouse to extract, validate, and reconcile financial data in support of reporting and reconciliation activities
  • Leverage AI tools including Claude and Shortcut to draft reports, analyze data, and automate repetitive tasks, freeing capacity for higher-value analysis
  • Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and visual reports to communicate financial trends to leadership
  • Properly record business transactions for loan funding and the sale of all products
  • Review bank accounts daily for loan funding and sale transactions
  • Reconcile monthly bank and loan account balances
  • Maintain supporting schedules and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Partner with Accounts Payable on vendor accruals and cutoff testing
  • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Prepare internal and external financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data
  • Review Staff Accountant processes and journal entries, providing coaching and feedback
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives across the Accounting team
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • Moderate to advance level of Excel knowledge
  • Experience at a high-volume mortgage loan originator or servicer is preferred but not required
  • Tech-savvy with a genuine interest in working across modern accounting and data platforms; experience with accounting ERP systems and familiarity with Campfire, Snowflake, Tableau, or AI-assisted tools (Claude, Shortcut) a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing data; basic coding or scripting experience (e.g., Python) is a plus for automating reports and streamlining data analysis
  • Ability to work in a challenging and rewarding environment that provides great avenues for personal development
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict close deadlines; experience working in a SOX-compliant environment preferred
  • Possess a mindset for perpetual process improvement and efficiency
