Senior Accountant Associate I - JLL

What this job involves:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant for our Client Accounting Services team in Westmont, IL. This role is essential to delivering exceptional financial management and reporting for our diverse client portfolio. You will manage complex accounting tasks, prepare financial statements, and serve as a trusted advisor to property teams and clients alike. This position offers significant growth opportunities in a dynamic environment and is ideal for experienced accountants looking to advance their career in client-focused financial management while contributing directly to JLL's reputation for excellence in real estate services.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly/quarterly property financial statements for a 4 to 6 property portfolio by established client deadlines
  • Prepare and distribute monthly/quarterly financial reports, including journal entries, financial statement preparation, and bank reconciliations within stated controls and client reporting requirements
  • Function as a resource to site property teams, coordinating procedures, responding to accounting questions, and addressing client inquiries
  • Oversee internal and external audits and coordinate with various departments on audit requirements
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, cash management for loan servicing, disbursement processing, and external reporting
  • Coordinate the Accounts Payable process by reviewing invoice coding and approvals while ensuring compliance with all appropriate controls
  • Assist with annual budget preparation by compiling key assumptions and capital budget information, reviewing for reasonableness, and ensuring timely and accurate entry into the accounting system

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Real estate accounting experience
  • Experience with real estate specific software, specifically MRI or Yardi
  • Strong planning and organizing abilities with capability to establish courses of action to accomplish goals and evaluate results
  • Ability to multitask, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet client needs
  • Client focus with dedication to meeting expectations and requirements of external and internal clients while establishing and maintaining effective relationships
  • Drive for results with proven ability to exceed goals successfully and maintain bottom-line orientation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel (Access knowledge desirable)
  • Adaptability to maintain effectiveness in varying environments, tasks, and responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively cope with change, shift gears comfortably, and decide and act without having the total picture
  • Capability to comfortably handle risk and uncertainty in ambiguous situations
  • Experience with annual year-end reconciliation processes, including preparation, calculation, and review of adjustments per lease requirements

Estimated compensation for this position:

78,000.00 - 78,800.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
