Western States Lodging & Management is looking for an Accountant to oversee financial reporting for a portfolio of properties while serving as a trusted financial resource for operational leaders.

  • Competitive Pay - $55,000 - $65,000 annually.
    • The starting rate is based on experience and qualifications. This position participates in our compensation program, which provides opportunities for future pay growth based on performance and career development.

Eligible full-time associates are entitled to the following:

What You'll Do
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports for assigned properties
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and account reconciliations
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Perform basic variance analysis by comparing actual results to budgets and prior periods
  • Process intercompany transactions and assist with multi-entity accounting activities
  • Partner with property leaders to review financial performance and answer accounting-related questions
  • Assist with reporting, special projects, and process improvement initiatives
  • Continuously develop knowledge of accounting principles, systems, and company procedures

What Makes You Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred, or equivalent accounting experience
  • 0-4 years of accounting experience
  • Understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas such as SUM, COUNT, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and Logic formulas
  • Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies
  • Eagerness to learn new accounting systems and develop professionally
  • NetSuite experience a plus
