How will you make an impact? 

We need a highly motivated, analytical SEM Marketing Specialist III to own, plan, launch, maintain, and optimize paid search and shopping programs in support of global SEM efforts for the Biosciences Division and Genetic Sciences Division, within the Life Sciences Solutions Group. This role will support a critical revenue-driving channel, helping deliver measurable revenue growth, Search roadmap priorities, and scalable SEM capabilities across the business. 

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience leading enterprise-level paid search programs, with the ability to move quickly, make data-informed decisions, and prioritize work based on business impact. This person will bring a balanced mix of marketing strategy, platform expertise, analytical rigor, and sound business judgment.

What will you do? 

  • Serve as the internal SEM channel owner for assigned business units, leading day-to-day strategy, execution, measurement, and optimization of paid search and shopping programs that support revenue growth, and business priorities. 

  • Lead multiple, simultaneous Search roadmap priorities, translating business needs into channel enhancements, testing plans, platform improvements, automation opportunities, and scalable operating processes. 

  • Monitor campaign performance, conduct investigative analyses, and find opportunities to improve and optimize search campaign performance. 

  • Analyze, experiment with, and refine existing SEM account structures, campaign types, bid strategies, budgets, targeting methods, and creative assets to improve performance across core paid search programs. 

  • Evaluate, pilot, and scale emerging Search capabilities, including Performance Max, AI Max for Search, feed-based campaigns, feed readiness, creative automation, and audience signal strategies, to advance the future-state Search roadmap. 

  • Own SEM performance narratives for stakeholders and leadership, including forecasting, budget recommendations, spend pacing, attribution insights, and executive-ready reporting. 

  • Lead SEM knowledge-sharing sessions covering standard methodologies, strategy, industry updates, platform changes, automation, AI Search, Shopping, measurement, and testing learnings. 

  • Participate in scrum ceremonies and follow agile principles as part of an agile team, using project management software. 

How will you get here? 

Education 

  • The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor’s degree 

Required Experience: 

  • 5+ years of hands-on paid search experience, including experience managing enterprise-scale Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising programs, large budgets, and cross-functional business stakeholders. 

  • Experience managing a variety of campaign types, including Search, Dynamic Search Ads, Shopping Ads, Performance Max, and other automated or AI-enabled campaign types. 

  • Deep understanding of automated bidding, Smart Bidding, budget pacing, audience signals, match types, query management, campaign structure, and performance tradeoffs. 

  • Proficiency with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics. 

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. 

  • Experience with A/B testing and implementing resulting actions. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex SEM performance insights into clear business recommendations. 

  • Ability to present to a variety of partners and leadership. 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to analyze large data sets from multiple sources. 

  • Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools, automation, and platform recommendations to improve campaign performance, workflow efficiency, testing velocity, and decision-making while applying sound business judgment and appropriate human oversight. 

  • Use data, dashboards, and performance narratives to communicate actionable insights that improve critical metrics and inform business decisions. 

  • Strong time management, planning, and prioritization skills. 

  • Self-starter who identifies and leads process or channel improvement efforts. 

  • Standout colleague with a positive demeanor who goes above and beyond to accomplish business objectives. 

  • Attention to detail. 

  • Experience in agile methodology within a marketing organization is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $83,300.00–$110,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
