Job description

About the Role

We're a growing multi-channel e-commerce company looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to keep our books accurate day to day. You'll be the person in the transactions — reconciling marketplace payouts, keeping SellerCloud and QuickBooks in sync, matching inventory and COGS, and making sure every Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and eBay settlement ties out. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable in high-volume, high-SKU data and enjoys the puzzle of making messy marketplace numbers reconcile cleanly.

You'll work closely with the Controller, who owns the close and financial statements; your job is to feed that process with clean, well-reconciled data and flag issues before they become month-end surprises.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Accounting

  • Record daily financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks
  • Perform bank, credit card, and payment processor reconciliations (Stripe, PayPal, Amazon Pay, etc.)
  • Process accounts payable: enter vendor bills, match to POs, and prepare payment runs
  • Manage accounts receivable and apply incoming payments
  • Prepare and post routine journal entries, accruals, and prepaids under the Controller's review
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and support schedules

Marketplace & Channel Reconciliation

  • Reconcile marketplace settlements and payouts (Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, etc.) to gross sales, fees, refunds, and reserves
  • Break out and categorize marketplace fees, commissions, FBA/fulfillment charges, and advertising spend
  • Reconcile returns, refunds, and chargebacks
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between channel reports and recorded revenue

Inventory & COGS Support

  • Reconcile SellerCloud inventory and order data to QuickBooks
  • Support COGS tracking and SKU-level cost accuracy
  • Help maintain landed cost inputs (freight, duties, 3PL fees)
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and variance research
  • Enter and track purchase orders and inventory receipts

Systems & Data

  • Keep the SellerCloud-to-QuickBooks data flowing accurately; flag and help resolve sync discrepancies
  • Work within SellerCloud (orders, inventory, purchasing, reporting) and any connectors (e.g., A2X, Webgility)
  • Pull, clean, and organize transaction data using Excel/Google Sheets
  • Suggest process improvements to reduce manual work and errors

Compliance & Close Support

  • Support multi-state sales tax filings and nexus tracking (or tools like Avalara/TaxJar)
  • Assist the Controller with month-end close tasks and reconciliations
  • Help prepare schedules and documentation for tax preparers and auditors

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally in e-commerce or retail
  • Working experience with SellerCloud
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop)
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and the full transaction cycle
  • Comfort working with high-volume transaction data and multiple sales channels
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, large data sets)
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational habits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reconciling Amazon, Walmart, or Shopify settlements
  • Familiarity with marketplace reconciliation tools (A2X, Webgility)
  • Exposure to inventory/COGS accounting in a high-SKU environment
  • Experience with sales tax platforms (Avalara, TaxJar)
  • Progress toward CPA or an accounting certification
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth company

Full Time Employee Benefits

Benefits Package to eligible employees which include:

  • Medical/Dental/Vision
  • Company contributes 75% toward the cost of the employee medical premiums
  • Company paid employee only life and disability insurance premiums
  • 2 weeks paid vacation

Location: Wheat Ridge, CO

Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite
