Blue Mule Garage a very busy, successful Mechanic repair shop located in Bastrop, Tx. We just expanded into a 5 bay shop from two, added a separate office and waiting room for our customers and we are looking for hard working, experienced mechanic/Auto Tech to add to our family of Mechanical owned and operated shop with 5 star google reviews! We expect our mechanics to be experienced and open to help other employees when help is needed. Treat customers and coworkers with respect, honesty, and communicate in a professional manner.

Experienced Auto Repair Technician

· Minimum 10 years of Automotive Mechanical Repair and Diagnosis of vehicles, problem-solving and repair experience to succeed in this position.

Maintains tools and work places so that conditions are neat and orderly.

$32.50 + an hour FLAG PAY (Self employed status) 1099 employee- increased based on performance at 30 days of employment

JOB DUTIES INCLUDING NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including:
  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Manual/Electrical Steering
  • Suspension
  • Brakes
  • Air Conditioning, etc.
  • Perform Pre-Purchase vehicle inspections
  • Test-drive vehicles
  • Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to ensure customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
  • Knowledge and ability to remove engines and transmissions

JOB REQUIRED SKILLS & CRITERIA:

  • Standing/Sitting/Squatting/Kneeling/Bending for long periods of time.
  • Lifting/Loading/Unloading/Carrying (Up to 50 lbs)
  • Practice safe use of machines, equipment, hand tools, power tools, jacks and lifts.
  • Ability to communicate in English and or Spanish if applicable with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including safety glasses, and as needed, respirator, steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required.
