What is seismic processing?

Seismic processing is the series of computational techniques used to convert raw seismic data collected from the field into meaningful images or models of the Earth’s subsurface. This process involves data cleaning, correcting for distortions, and enhancing signals to help geoscientists interpret rock layers and structures. Seismic processing is crucial in the oil and gas industry, environmental studies, and earthquake research, as it helps identify potential resources and understand geological formations. The main goal is to produce accurate, high-resolution images that support exploration and decision-making.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a seismic processing specialist?

To thrive as a Seismic Processing Specialist, you need a solid background in geophysics, signal processing, and data analysis, usually supported by a degree in geoscience or a related discipline. Familiarity with specialized software such as ProMAX, Vista, or Hampson-Russell, as well as experience with high-performance computing systems, is typically required. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help professionals interpret complex data and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. These abilities are crucial for transforming raw seismic data into actionable insights that support exploration and development decisions in the energy sector.

What are the common challenges faced by professionals working in seismic processing, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in seismic processing frequently encounter challenges such as managing large volumes of complex geophysical data, ensuring data quality, and dealing with varying subsurface conditions. Addressing these challenges requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with specialized software, and close collaboration with geophysicists, geologists, and data engineers. Regular training, staying updated on the latest processing techniques, and communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams are key strategies to overcome these obstacles and deliver accurate seismic images.

Job description

Overview
Are you a goal-oriented, competitive sales professional who thrives on closing business and building relationships that last? Seismic is looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join a fast-paced, high-energy sales team. This is a hunter-to-farmer role, backed by significant support to help you overachieve your revenue targets while selling a category-defining, AI-powered Go-To-Market Performance platform. If you're ready to build your career in enterprise SaaS sales at a rocket-ship company redefining how revenue teams win, we want to talk to you.
Who you are:
  • 3+ years of full-cycle SaaS sales experience with a consistent track record of quota attainment.
  • Proven success both hunting net-new logos and farming expansion or cross-sell revenue within an existing account base.
  • Skilled at generating and multi-threading pipeline across Sales, Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Operations stakeholders, and articulating business value up to the C-suite.
  • Naturally curious, consultative, and patiently persistent - you build trust quickly and know how to uncover a prospect's real business needs.
  • Competitive and coachable: you love to win, you're just as invested in helping teammates win, and you actively seek out feedback.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starting mindset; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly.
  • Experience with Salesforce and modern sales tech (sales engagement, conversation intelligence, forecasting, and prospecting tools) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with sales enablement, content management, or marketing technology is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

What you'll be doing:
  • Hunt: prospect, develop, and close net-new business within a large territory.
  • Farm: drive expansion (upsell) and cross-sell revenue across your existing install base.
  • Run and manage complex sales motions - from discovery and qualification through negotiation and close - managing multiple opportunities at once.
  • Own your number: build and maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in Salesforce, and manage your territory with rigor and discipline.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and champions to navigate multi-stakeholder deals across Sales, Marketing, Enablement and Operations.
  • Understand and document each prospect's budget, timeline, business goals, and decision-making process.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Professional Services, and Account Development to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data and report on territory health and pipeline coverage to leadership.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture grounded in Seismic's guiding principles and commitment to DEI.
