Job description

Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering and infrastructure organization to identify an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support and lead the design, analysis, and execution of structural systems for large-scale industrial, utility, infrastructure, manufacturing, and mission-critical projects.

This opportunity is ideal for structural engineers with experience designing complex structural systems, coordinating multidisciplinary projects, and supporting projects from concept through construction. We are seeking professionals who can independently execute engineering assignments while contributing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and driving successful project outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support structural engineering activities for complex industrial, infrastructure, utility, and commercial projects.
  • Design and analyze: 
    • Structural steel buildings and support structures
    • Reinforced concrete foundations
    • Equipment foundations and support systems
    • Pipe racks and utility structures
    • Equipment platforms and access systems
    • Industrial facilities and associated infrastructure
  • Perform structural analyses for gravity, wind, seismic, thermal, transportation, and equipment loading conditions.
  • Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, design criteria, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Prepare and review construction drawings, material take-offs, and engineering packages.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and construction teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, risk evaluations, and multidisciplinary project meetings.
  • Review vendor documentation, equipment data, and engineering submittals.
  • Support project execution through planning, detailed design, procurement, construction, startup, and project closeout phases.
  • Respond to field issues, RFIs, design modifications, and construction-related technical questions.
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and structural assessments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting engineering quality and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis) or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience, with consideration given to candidates with advanced leadership and technical expertise.
  • Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, utility, energy, or EPC-related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of: 
    • Structural steel design
    • Reinforced concrete design
    • Foundation systems
    • Structural dynamics
    • Seismic and wind analysis
    • Industrial facility design
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and project priorities.
  • Experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, or coordinating multidisciplinary teams is a plus.
