What does a segment manager do?

A Segment Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the growth of a specific market segment within a company. They analyze market trends, identify opportunities, develop strategies, and coordinate with sales, marketing, and product teams to meet business objectives for their targeted segment. Their role involves understanding customer needs, monitoring competitors, and ensuring that the company's offerings remain competitive and relevant. Segment Managers play a key role in shaping the direction of product development and go-to-market strategies for their assigned segment.

Outstanding communication, leadership, and strategic thinking are vital soft skills for building relationships and driving results. These capabilities enable effective management of targeted market segments, ensuring business growth and competitive advantage.

How does a segment manager typically collaborate with sales and product teams to drive business growth?

They often analyze market data and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities within their designated segment. Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a proven sales leader to join its Global CPU Segment Sales team and drive adoption of NVIDIA CPU solutions across strategic customers and key markets worldwide. In this role, you will partner with regional sales leaders, solution architects, product teams, marketing, and ecosystem partners to build pipeline, strengthen customer relationships, and translate CPU strategy into revenue growth. What you'll be doing: Drive business expansion through strategic deal execution with OEMs, hyperscalers, Neocloud partners, and AI-native customers, including account planning, executive engagement, commercial strategy, and cross-partner alignment.

Build a high-quality global pipeline by collaborating with regional sales teams to see opportunities, fast-track strategic deals, and scale repeatable sales motions across priority segments. Secure global build wins by enabling field teams to position NVIDIA's processor architectures, clearly articulate customer value, overcome objections, and differentiate against driven alternatives. Provide clear business visibility across CPU-related opportunities, including pipeline health, deal progression, competitive dynamics, and account-level execution plans across assigned regions or segments.

Identify and engage high-potential growth areas across vertical markets, workloads, OEM and channel routes, cloud opportunities, and ecosystem partnerships where NVIDIA CPU platforms can provide distinct value. What We Need to See: 12+ years sales experience in data center infrastructure, cloud, AI infrastructure, CPU platforms, or related technology markets. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Business or a related field.

Consistent track record leading global, regional, or multi-account sales initiatives that delivered business impact. Deep understanding of data center buying motions across enterprise, cloud, OEM, channel, and sales models. Ability to lead through influence across matrixed global organizations, aligning sales, product, marketing, business development, and technical collaborators around shared outcomes.

Executive presence with exceptional interpersonal skills and a talent for turning sophisticated technical and commercial concepts into clear customer benefits. Willingness to travel globally for strategic customer meetings, partner engagements, industry events, and internal business planning (15%). Ways to Stand Out from the crowd: Validated experience scaling CPU-related business with major OEMs, cloud service providers, global system integrators, or large enterprise customers.

Established experience in meeting significant worldwide revenue objectives and promoting ongoing business development across regions or priority accounts. Strong market and technical knowledge of CPU platforms, server architectures, hyperscale and cloud infrastructure, and AI infrastructure buying trends. NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the most desirable employers in the world.
