Job description

Three-year-olds don't ask permission before they wonder. They crouch down to examine a bug on the sidewalk, announce that clouds are "make of cotton," and declare with complete authority that purple is absolutely the best color. If you find yourself delighted by exactly this, by the wide-open curiosity of a child who hasn't yet learned to hold back a question, Moravian Academy's Beginning School has a classroom waiting for you.

As our Part-Time Preschool Teacher at the Historic Downtown Campus, you'll spend Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings in the company of three-year-olds, guiding a play-based curriculum that honors exactly how children this age learn: through exploration, story, repetition, and the kind of uninhibited joy that only a preschooler can bring. At just over ten hours per week, this role is purposely designed for someone who wants meaningful, mission-driven work without a full-time commitment, whether you're an experienced educator looking for a lighter schedule or someone with a deep passion for early childhood who values that kind of balance.

This isn't babysitting with a lesson plan. Every morning matters. The social-emotional foundations you nurture, the language you model, and the sense of belonging you build in this little classroom are the earliest chapters of a Moravian Academy education, and of a child's relationship with learning itself.

We're looking for someone who reads a child's curiosity before the words come, who builds genuine partnerships with families, and who brings warmth, patience, and professional grounding to a role where every day looks a little different.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Master's preferred
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or structured program setting
  • Solid understanding of early childhood development and responsive behavior support strategies
  • Comfort with digital family-communication platforms such as Seesaw
  • Ability to satisfy all Pennsylvania background clearance requirements before start

Ready to spend your mornings where wonder lives? Submit your resume and cover letter on this job site to join a community where curiosity is celebrated and every small discovery counts.

Moravian Academy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
