What you will be doing: Responsible for providing security coverage at campus access gate, performing patrol duties in assigned areas to ensure positive group relations and activities, to protect life and property, in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential functions:

1. Follow company security procedures on all persons and vehicles entering and exiting the campus.

2. Advise students and provide guidance for positive attitude and behavior in on center activities.

3. Patrol and monitor center grounds and the surrounding vicinities as required ensuring safety and proper behavior of students; resolving potential or occurring problems.

4. Protect and secure buildings, center vehicles and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment; maintain log of findings and corrective action taken; control security vehicle assignments and use.

5. Assist in emergency evacuation, control and accountability of students and staff; respond to fire alarms; take necessary steps to report fires; reset fire alarm equipment.

6. Issue visitor badges and parking permits; issue staff and student keys and badges; maintain related records.

7. Distribute petty cash, maintain accountability logs and receipts, and audit each shift.

8. Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances; conduct investigation of crimes and unauthorized activities as assigned.

9. Review student problems with counselors and student personnel officer.

10. Perform administrative functions such as logs, incident reports and accident documentation; act as center dispatcher as assigned.

11. Participate in student employability programs and activities.

12. Support and promote center zero tolerance policies.

13. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.

14. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

15. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

16. Assist, support and communicate with other community life departments to ensure high level of service.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education & experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience working with youth preferred. Security related experience is desired. Computer proficiency required. Must maintain a current Security Guard Card and CPR/ first aid certification. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
