Security Tech Lead - AI-Driven Security Platform (Remote, US)
Contract | Long-Term | Experian
About the Role
Join Experian as a Security Tech Lead and drive the development of a cutting-edge, AI-enabled Security Modular Platform built for scale. As a hands-on technical leader, you'll architect and deliver reusable security capabilities used by engineering teams company-wide. You'll shape the future of our internal security platform, influence architecture decisions, and mentor a talented engineering team-while building your leadership portfolio in a modern cloud-native environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor software engineers while remaining hands-on in code and design
- Drive code reviews, ensure engineering best practices, and influence technical decisions
- Design and enhance security platform features: Authentication, Authorization, RBAC, IAM, compliance, secrets/key management, and security controls
- Integrate and centralize security services across the organization
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, observability, and automation
- Shape the use of AI to enhance both security and developer experience
- Support incident response, SLAs, and ongoing platform modernization
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years software engineering experience
- 3+ years in a technical or team leadership role
- Deep hands-on experience with Java and/or Node.js
- Strong AWS and cloud-native platform knowledge
- Distributed systems expertise
- Security engineering background: IAM, RBAC, AuthN/AuthZ, secrets management, WAF, SIEM, security scanning
- Proficient in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Harness, etc.)
- Demonstrated code review and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Preferred Skills
- Experience building SDKs, APIs, or CLI tools
- AI/LLM exposure in security or engineering
- Background with internal developer platforms at scale
- Supporting compliance/security initiatives in enterprise environments
