Job description

SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of corporate Video Surveillance and Security Systems, including surveillance cameras, access control, and related hardware/software. Acts as the Designated Officer and Primary Company Representative for all security system compliance and regulatory matters. Provides leadership, technical guidance, and ensures adherence to safety and industry standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of Security Systems Technicians and related personnel.
  • Serve as Designated Officer and Primary Company Representative for regulatory compliance, licensing, and audits related to security systems.
  • Develop and maintain security system standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan and oversee installation, configuration, and integration of video surveillance and access control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations for security systems.
  • Prepare and deliver price quotations for customer deployments, ensuring accuracy and profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
  • Provide technical expertise and resolve escalated issues related to security systems.
  • Maintain documentation of system designs, configurations, and maintenance schedules.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices and compliance requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise Security Systems Technicians and other assigned staff. Responsible for performance management, scheduling, and training.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security systems installation and management.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Texas Driver's License and insurable driving record required.
Must possess or be able to obtain industry-recognized certifications within a specified timeframe (e.g., Texas Department of Public Safety Security Installer License, Level 1 certification for Class B license, and required state test for Company Representative in the Texas private security program covering Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1702 and Texas Administrative Code Chapter 35 ).
Additional certifications in networking or security (CompTIA Security+, Network+, etc.) are highly desirable.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, management, and regulatory bodies.
  • Skilled in preparing clear and accurate price quotations and proposals.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of Corporate Security and Surveillance Systems.
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN and IT concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in creating cost estimates and managing budgets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. Noise level is usually moderate.
