At the heart of our operations is the cutting-edge Combined Cooling, Heating, and Power Plant (CCHP), which generates steam, chilled water, and electricity to heat, cool, and energize more than 17 million square feet of academic, research, athletic, and healthcare facilities.
Beyond providing utility services to the campus, Energy Management also installs and manages cutting-edge building automation systems that optimize energy consumption across the university. Building Automation systems include HVAC Controls, Lighting Controls, Electronic Locking, Keycard Access, and Security Camera Systems.

Position: Building Automation Security Systems Supervisor
Nature and Level of Work:
To support the academic and research missions of the campus, this position supports campus safety by ensuring security camera and key card access systems are installed, maintained, and working properly.
Key Responsibilities:
This position is the primary point of contact and the supervisor of the campus security camera and card access installation and maintenance crew.
  • Provides oversite, management and tracking of necessary repairs.
  • Supervise and assign work to crew members.
  • Work with Project Managers on security projects.
  • Coordinate cost estimates and cost proposals for security systems.
  • Work order creating and tracking.
  • Collaboration with Campus IT for networking and software support.
    Interface with MUPD to address security needs.
  • Works with Building Coordinators on security training and operational needs.
  • Provide supervision of staff, including assigning work, approving time off, tracking labor hours, monitoring staff performance and formal performance appraisals.
  • Schedule and plan work to keep up with project schedules and to minimize the impact to campus.
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure adherence to campus standards.
  • Attend design review and construction coordination meetings as needed.
  • Help security technicians troubleshoot more complex problems.
  • This position reports to the Manager of Building Automation & TAB.

7:00 AM -3:30 PM / M-F
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Five years' previous security systems experience. Experience with IP based security cameras, card access, and/or prior building automation systems knowledge.
A valid driver's license which will allow the legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri is required.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $31.25 to $40.86 per hour
Grade: GGS-010
University Title: Senior CSM Associate
