About the job
The Security team is looking for an Associate Security Officer to support the organization's safety and security objectives. Our team is responsible for safeguarding company personnel, assets, and facilities through proactive security measures and rapid incident response. This team ensures a secure environment by monitoring access control systems, conducting patrols, and enforcing security policies. In addition, we serve as first responders during emergencies, coordinating evacuation procedures, helping employees and visitors, and liaising with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary. Our mission is to maintain a safe and resilient workplace through vigilance, preparedness, and professionalism.
As an Associate Security Officer, you will be the first line of defense in creating a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets. This role offers the chance to make a real impact every day protecting people, preventing incidents, and responding to emergencies with confidence. You will gain hands-on experience with advanced security systems, develop critical decision-making skills, and grow into a trusted leader in security.
As an Associate Security Officer, you will:
  • Complete routine patrols of the grounds and facilities by foot, bicycle and/or vehicular conveyance to detect or prevent illegal/unauthorized activities; stands and walks most of working shift and is subject to working in adverse weather conditions.
  • Respond to calls for service and emergencies; activate and/or facilitate emergency response personnel, when necessary, e.g., fire, intrusion, medical emergency.
  • Operate two-way radio communications equipment and other electronic security, fire and life safety devices.
  • Coordinate and perform event support as appropriate including traffic & parking, standby, escorts, etc.
  • Document incident facts and response actions as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as outlined in the security operations policies and procedures.
  • Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and guests on company property upon request.

Required qualifications
  • College level coursework in Criminal Justice or security related field preferred.
  • Typically requires some experience as a security officer/guard, preferably in a corporate environment preferred. Some experience working with burglar, fire, and building access security systems and responding to alarm conditions preferred.
  • Valid driver's license for appropriate state required.
  • Must be able to work with company sensitive and/or confidential information and materials
  • Ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English, including the ability to complete accurate written reports detailing activities and to effectively communicate with emergency response personnel.
  • Must be able to do the following on a regular basis: stand and/or walk for up to 12 hours on uneven/unimproved and/or slick surfaces (e.g. around exteriors of buildings, unimproved roads, construction zones, etc.); climb stairs and occasionally use a ladder to access heights (to check roof hatches, reset card readers, etc.); work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) and be subjected to temperature extremes (in/out of conditioned space and outside air); lift materials/objects up to 50 lbs. (traffic cones, tires/rims, tools, emergency equipment, jumps start packs, etc.); bend, reach, stretch to access concealed or remote areas; use senses to detect unusual activity (sight, sound, smell, touch). Must be able to do the following as needed, as part of an emergency response: walk at a brisk pace or run to respond to emergency locations; briskly climb up to six flights of stairs; repel physical violence directed at self or others, to include physically restraining violent individuals; must meet any physical requirements for defensive combat protective personnel; lift/move heavy objects (e.g. fallen materials/debris, moves injured/incapacitated persons, etc.) without assistance; work in adverse conditions (foul weather, at/in/near locations of damaged structures and equipment such as fires, storm damage, etc.); walks/run through unimproved areas (wooded areas, construction zones, etc.); operate emergency response equipment (fire extinguishers, Automated External Defibrillators, power and hand tools, etc.); work extended periods of time with minimal rest.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
