As a Emergency Response Supervisor, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that GardaWorld Security core values are fully integrated into all business and emergency practices
  • Supervise day-to-day security services and ensure service is of the highest tactical and operational standards, capable of representing GardaWorld as the premier security provider
  • Lead and participate in tactical emergency response operations, including coordinating drills and actual incidents
  • Assist in the development and implementation of staffing schedules, payroll, and operational reporting
  • Ensure operational logs, incident records, post orders, and documentation are maintained accurately and updated regularly
  • Develop and maintain effective, professional relationships with clients and employees, serving as the primary liaison for all security, tactical, and emergency issues
  • Select, orient, train, coach, and continually develop staff assigned to the account, ensuring tactical readiness and adherence to all safety standards
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture, actively managing a robust safety program appropriate to the operating environment, including hazardous materials handling
  • Review security officer schedules and staffing levels to improve security operations, tactical readiness, and cost efficiency
  • Respond to any operational emergency with timely, efficient communication and accurate reporting
  • Provide consistent coaching, mentoring, and development to all supervised employees, enhancing team performance and professional growth
  • Administer corrective actions and discipline of subordinate officers, up to and including formal warnings, and actively participate in decisions regarding suspension or termination as necessary and appropriate
  • Recommend, nominate, and distribute rewards and recognition to reinforce high performance
  • Exercise independent judgment and sound decision-making in all areas of supervision and emergency management

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises shift supervisors, emergency response teams, and security officers. The ERS is directly responsible for:
  • Leading, developing, and mentoring staff to achieve the highest level of performance
  • Applying fair and consistent discipline, including issuing corrective actions and formal warnings
  • Participating in performance reviews and performance improvement plans
  • Recommending and participating in decisions on employee terminations when necessary, in accordance with company policies and HR procedures

The ERS is expected to:

  • Demonstrate strong tactical and operational leadership, setting the tone for professionalism, accountability, and safety across all teams
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring, coaching, and developing employees

  • Collaborate with HR and leadership in managing employee relations issues, including corrective actions, suspensions, or terminations
  • Lead by example with integrity, resilience, adaptability, and sound judgment, particularly in high-stress or emergency situations

Work Environment
This job operates in a combination of standard office environments, tactical emergency conditions, and HAZMAT-designated areas. It requires significant physical activity, including walking the site, engaging in emergency responses, and overseeing active operations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, handle tools, climb stairs, talk or hear, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, especially during emergency response activities.

Qualifications of Tactical Security Guard

  • Tactical response training and certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Be able to pass a physical fitness assessment
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
  • Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
  • First aid certification is an asset
  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
  • If you have Security, Military, Law Enforcement experience – even better!
  • You have a state license if required
