About the role
Provides student career technical training (CTT) to ensure student progress, retention and completion of the Job Corps program leading to quality full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
What you'll do
  • Provide career technical training instruction to students by teaching from approved curriculum.
  • Use effective youth and young adult learning strategies to plan, prepare, and implement instructional units to assist students in gaining knowledge, skills, and attitudes appropriate for selected industry.
  • Tailor facilitation to each student by using a variety of instructional approaches in recognition of students' diverse learning needs and preferences.
  • Administer and create appropriate hands-on activities utilizing classroom mock-ups.
  • Model and provide instruction in the use of information technology as a critical component of workplace success.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Job Corps information systems including case notes, attendance, and career plans.
  • Provide appropriate personal and educational guidance to students.
  • Meet Department of Labor (DOL) and company statistical goals for assigned trade.
  • Enforce professional norms and promote professional behavior for students in classroom/shop area.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage classroom environment and classroom discipline for effective learning.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of competency-based instruction, computer management instruction, and cooperative-learning techniques.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of CTT Job Corps program operations for assigned trade.

Qualifications
  • Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade organization.

The pay range for this role is:
64,000 - 68,000 USD per year (St. Louis JCC Main)
