Altera is seeking a Security Product Marketing Manager to define and drive our outward-facing security vision and narrative, translating advanced FPGA security capabilities into clear, differentiated customer value across design, data, and supply chain security.

This role goes beyond feature positioning to define how security enables customer success, helping organizations build resilient, long-life, and trusted systems. The PMM will shape the market conversation around emerging threats and position Altera as a leader in addressing them-including the accelerating industry transformation driven by evolving global regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), CNSA requirements, and other government security mandates.

The ideal candidate will simplify complex security concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with executives, architects, and developers-clearly articulating why security is becoming a foundational system requirement and why Altera's FPGA-based platforms uniquely enable long-term, adaptable protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Altera's outward-facing security narrative and positioning across design security, data security, and supply chain security

  • Lead messaging for core innovations, including Secure Device Manager (SDM) as root of trust, crypto agility, and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) adoption and transition strategies

  • Build the inward and outward narrative that connects security features to business outcomes and maps customer threats to Altera solutions

  • Develop high-quality, customer-facing assets including solution briefs, whitepapers, blogs, website product pages, sales presentations and executive decks

  • Equip sales teams with security-focused pitch decks, competitive positioning and objection handling, and use-case and vertical-specific messaging

  • Analyze competitive security positioning to develop differentiated messaging highlighting FPGA-based crypto agility, lifecycle security advantages and supply chain protection capabilities

  • Identify emerging trends and translate them into actionable marketing strategies

The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based ona number offactors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences,trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or a related role.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Experience in semiconductors, embedded systems, or infrastructure technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to create external-facing technical content and messaging.

  • Strong understanding of security fundamentals, including:

    • Secure boot and root of trust

    • Cryptography concepts and key management

    • Hardware-based security principles

    • Network security technologies, including MACsec (Media Access Control Security) and IPsec (Internet Protocol Security)

    • Secure communications, authentication, encryption, and key exchange protocols

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear customer value.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hardware or platform security (FPGA, SoC, ASIC, or infrastructure systems)

  • Familiarity with Post-quantum cryptography (PQC), crypto agility and lifecycle security and regulatory frameworks (CRA, CNSA, FIPS, etc.)

  • Experience marketing to regulated or high-assurance industries

  • Background in developing security-focused campaigns or thought leadership

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 6 to 12 months this leader will:

  • Revise a clear, differentiated Altera security narrative

  • Deliver compelling messaging around crypto agility, PQC readiness, and lifecycle security

  • Enable sales with strong security positioning and tools

  • Launch impactful campaigns aligned to regulatory shifts (CRA and beyond) and emerging threats (quantum, advanced attacks)

  • Position Altera as the trusted security platform provider
