Job description

Position: Security Operations Specialist
Clearance: Top Secret (TS)/ Security Clearance (SAP Eligibility) is required and current within the last five years
Work Location: Arlington, VA
Work Hours: Monday through Friday onsite (Regular Full-time)
Work authorization: United States (Required)
Position Summary
The Security Operations Specialist provides multi-disciplinary security support to a DoD customer, supporting day-to-day execution of security operations across personnel, physical, information, and SAP security programs. This role focuses on coordinating security activities, maintaining program documentation, supporting incident response, and assisting with training and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate can independently manage assigned tasks, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and operate in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain security documentation, including SOPs, SOMs, COOP, OEP, and related program materials
  • Support onboarding/offboarding coordination with HR and security stakeholders
  • Coordinate meetings, working groups, and program reviews (PMRs)
  • Maintain security records, contact rosters, and communication channels
  • Maintain and update security systems of record (e.g., JADE, DISS, SharePoint, local databases)
  • Manage document control processes and centralized file archives
  • Support visitor control processes, visit requests, and badge tracking
  • Assist with security incident inquiries, tracking, and documentation
  • Monitor incident status and support reporting to leadership
  • Contribute to trend analysis and lessons learned
  • Support development and delivery of security awareness and training materials
  • Track training completion and maintain training records
  • Assist with onboarding security briefings and recurring awareness campaigns
  • Support SAP, SCI, and collateral security activities as assigned
  • Assist with OPSEC and program protection activities, including basic risk assessments
  • Support compliance efforts with applicable DoD security directives
  • Provide coordination support for international security activities and documentation
  • Assist with partner engagement, training, and security program alignment

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; or
  • Associate's degree plus 4 additional years of relevant work experience; or
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 6 additional years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3-7 years of experience supporting DoD security programs
  • Experience in one or more areas:
    • Security operations
    • SAP or SCI security
    • Incident response or compliance
    • Security training or SETA
  • Working knowledge of DoD security policies (e.g., DoDM 5205.07 preferred)
  • Experience with security systems (e.g., DISS, JADE, or similar)
  • Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Active Top Secret clearance (SAP eligibility)
  • Eligible for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be able to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia
  • Completion of initial and ongoing security training is required.
  • Must meet client suitability.
