Job description

Seeking a highly motivated and driven Senior IT Project Manager to work Hybrid supporting enterprise IT for our War-fighter customer who upholds America's status as the "Land of the Free" every day, at work, or at play.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with PMO/leadership to define and implement standards, methods, and best practices for IT project scheduling and WBS development across the portfolio.

  • Continuously improve scheduling practices, templates, and guidelines based on lessons learned and industry standards.

  • Own the design and integrity of the master IT project schedule in Microsoft Project Server.

  • Analyze schedule data to identify cross-project impacts, critical paths, resource/contention issues, and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Lead the design and refinement of WBSs and WBS dictionaries for IT projects based on business and technical requirements.

  • Facilitate workshops with project managers, product owners, business stakeholders, and technical leads to decompose scope into well-defined work packages.

  • Ensure WBSs are traceable to requirements, aligned with deliverables, and suitable for robust scheduling and reporting.

  • Serve as the primary coach and advisor to IT project managers on WBS development, schedule structuring, and use of Project Server.

  • Provide practical guidance on defining activities, sequencing tasks, setting dependencies, estimating durations, and managing baselines.

  • Promote adoption of consistent scheduling practices, templates, and naming conventions to improve quality and comparability across projects.

  • Lead selected complex IT projects (e.g., new product/service launches, platform upgrades, software implementations) end-to-end.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, manage risks/issues, oversee change control, and ensure delivery against scope, schedule, and quality objectives.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (business, development, infrastructure, security, operations, vendors) to drive execution.

  • Use advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, advanced data analysis) to interpret schedule and portfolio data and provide insights to leadership.

  • Proactively identify schedule risks and bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions and scenario options.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of IT project management experience with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project Server, and project management best practices, capable of both leading complex IT projects and elevating the scheduling capability of a team of project managers.

  • Experience in analyzing program/project status and providing documentation to support project/program.

  • Experience with ITSM based services.

CERTIFICATION(s)

  • PMP

  • ITIL Foundations (can be achieved within 3 months of start date)

SECURITY CLEARANCE

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

EDUCATION

  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an Information Technology. Allowable Substitution: 6 years of related experience or 4 years of related experience with an AA/AS degree.

COMPENSATION

The likely salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 annually. This is not, however, a guarantee of total compensation or salary or any other compensation offered. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Rollout Systems offers a variety of benefits including health insurance with domestic partner coverage, company-funded health savings account and life and disability insurances, 401(k) matching, 401(k) profit-sharing, education assistance, paid time off, and paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, location, and schedule type.
