Job description

Duties * You will perform routine and special enforcement operations to assure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. * You will enforce laws respective to illegal disposal of hazardous waste or pollutants, illegal hunting and fishing, disturbance of historical or archeological sites and provide protection of critical or sensitive habitat. * You will gather evidence, perform extensive investigations, identify responsible parties, keep records and initiate appropriate enforcement actions.

* You will plan for and conduct collection of biological data such as deer surveys, deer harvest data, and alligator census information. * You will plan and conduct field operations such as food-plot and pond maintenance and improvement, wildlife habitat improvement projects, and animal damage control. * You will resolve issues involving conflicts between military training and operations with natural resource management and outdoor recreational activities.

Requirements Conditions of employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. * Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. * You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. * This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.

* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination and will be subject to annual physicals thereafter. * You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. * This position is subject to recall and to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.

Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required in addition to rotating shift work. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

* You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. * The incumbent must be able to become a qualified Conservation Law Enforcement Officer and maintain all standards as required/in accordance with MCO 5090.4. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations governing hunting, fishing, trapping and/or boating to conduct investigations; preparing reports involving processing of violations for subsequent hearings and trials; AND collecting required wildlife data for official program reporting. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: * I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR * I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree OR * I have successfully completed an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position OR * I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
