Description

Position Purpose 
Offer comprehensive support to customers, field service technicians, and sales teams to ensure the smooth operation of customer equipment, both hardware and software. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, integrating, supporting, and optimizing all Security Solutions supported products, technologies, and applications along with providing end-user training. This role involves direct interaction with customers, junior field service staff, sales personnel, and management to address and resolve installation, configuration, and operational challenges. As a Security Integration & Network Specialist, this position also requires travel to customer sites, remote offices, and various other locations. 
 
Compensation Range: $30 - $55 per hr. plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks assigned as required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Design, install, configure, and support physical security systems, including access control, video management, intrusion detection and mass communication systems.
  • Design, install, configure, and support IP based networks, communication systems, and other various infrastructures.
  • Provide integration services between building systems, using programming, scripting, and standard protocols.
  • Perform contracted monitoring and analysis to ensure optimization of customer investments.
  • Prepare system engineering as specified, using established LONG standards, while ensuring that equipment manufacturer recommendations are not compromised.
  • Prepare system documentation for the submittal process, disseminating information as required.
  • Receive information related to project as-built documentation and prepare final “As-Built” system drawings.
  • Provide technical support for customers, co-workers, and other LONG business units.
  • Design, install, troubleshoot, and document low voltage systems.
  • Attending construction meetings is required for individual projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
  • Obtain and retain knowledge of current technologies to provide proficient and innovative expertise to our customers. 
  • Attend and perform training functions as necessary.

Qualifications 
  • 4-year technical degree, or a 2-year technical school degree with at least 2 years of networking systems experience, 5 years of experience in IP-based networking and electronic security systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Strong commitment to quality work, meticulous attention to detail, and adherence to safe work practices for both self and team members. 
  • Proficient in basic electricity, including AC/DC theory, Ohm's Law, and using a digital volt/ohm meter.
  • Advanced expertise in IP-based physical security systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of IP-based and electronic communication systems.
  • In-depth understanding of network and computer operating systems.
  • Proficient in internetworking devices, techniques, operating systems, and protocols.
  • Skilled in programming, scripting, and integration protocols.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proven ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
  • Familiar with computer drafting software, word processors, and spreadsheets.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.

Physical Requirements
  • This position may include sitting for extended periods, lifting, bending, and kneeling.
  • This position may require lifting to 50 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
