Job description

Armed Security Officer

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Sublime manufacturing premises, its personnel, and assets. The officer will maintain a vigilant presence on the premises and ensure compliance with all relevant security procedures and protocols to prevent unauthorized access, theft, or damage.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitoring and Surveillance:
    • Operate and monitor the facility's video surveillance system, ensuring continuous coverage of all critical areas, including production rooms, storage facilities, and entry/exit points.
    • Respond immediately to any interruptions or failure notifications from the video surveillance system and report to the appropriate management personnel.
  2. Alarm System Management:
    • Maintain and operate the facility's alarm system, ensuring it is armed and disarmed as required.
    • Respond to any alarm triggers, including unauthorized entry attempts or suspicious activity, and notify the appropriate law enforcement and Sublime management personnel as needed.
    • Ensure the alarm system remains operational 24/7, with appropriate backup power functionality for emergencies.
  3. Access Control:
    • Implement and manage access control procedures, ensuring only authorized individuals are permitted entry to the premises.
    • Maintain accurate sign-in/sign-out records for all visitors, vendors, and contractors. Ensure all non-employee visitors are accompanied by authorized personnel while on the premises.
    • Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas of the premises, limiting access to employees with valid credentials for specific job duties.
  4. Perimeter Security and Inspections:
    • Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the facility's perimeter, ensuring all physical barriers, including fences, gates, and entry points, are secure.
    • Monitor the premises for any signs of unauthorized access, vandalism, or safety hazards, and report any issues immediately to management.
  1. Theft Prevention and Loss Control:
    • Restrict access to cannabis products and other high-value items to only those employees authorized to handle and process such materials.
    • Supervise high-risk activities such as the loading and unloading cannabis products, ensuring compliance with all safety and security protocols.
    • Ensure that personal employee items are stored separately from production areas to prevent unauthorized access to cannabis or cannabis products.
  2. Emergency Response and Coordination:
    • Act as the first point of contact for any security or safety emergencies, including break-ins, suspicious activity, or system failures.
    • Coordinate with external security contractors, law enforcement, and emergency responders as required, following established emergency protocols.
    • Maintain clear communication with Sublime management regarding any security incidents or concerns.
Requirements
  • Experience in security management or a related field, with knowledge of alarm systems, surveillance operations, and access control procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed security protocols and respond to emergencies calmly and professionally.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with management, external contractors, and law enforcement.
