As a Security Officer Full Time Dispatch Center in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will coordinate communications, monitor incoming information, and help direct appropriate responses to security-related needs. You will maintain clear records, provide outstanding customer service, and support a professional, responsive environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and field operations personnel at a telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor and coordinate dispatch communications for alarms, service requests, incidents, and critical situations, documenting information accurately and escalating notifications according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with on-site personnel, emergency responders, and appropriate internal contacts as directed.
  • Maintain detailed dispatch logs, incident reports, and communication records while protecting confidential operational and customer information.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, and designated telecommunications infrastructure areas; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
