Job Details
The Regional Compliance & Audit Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring employment compliance programs across assigned locations. This position partners closely with Operations, Human Resources, Payroll, and branch leadership to ensure compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, and client requirements. The Regional Compliance & Audit Manager conducts operational and HR compliance audits, identifies compliance risks, monitors corrective actions, and develops training programs that promote legal compliance and operational consistency throughout the region.
This position is based on-site at one of our California offices, located in Santa Clara, Los Angeles (LAX), Irvine, San Diego, or Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced audits of branch operations to ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
  • Audit personnel files, I-9 documentation, employee licensing, certifications, required notices, and onboarding documentation.
  • Conduct wage and hour audits including timekeeping, payroll, overtime, meal and rest periods, scheduling, and recordkeeping.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California labor requirements where applicable.
  • Review operational practices and identify compliance gaps, recommending corrective actions to minimize organizational risk.
  • Track audit findings, corrective action plans, and completion status while reporting trends to regional leadership.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Payroll, Operations, and Safety to ensure compliance issues are resolved timely and consistently.
  • Monitor changes in employment laws and communicate operational impacts to regional leadership.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver compliance training programs for managers and supervisors.
  • Create compliance resources, job aids, audit tools, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to compliance reviews, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance metrics including corrective action completion, required training completion, wage and hour compliance.
  • Prepare regional compliance reports and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support internal and external audits conducted by regulatory agencies or corporate leadership.
