Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite technical support within a secure government-operated environment. This individual will support end users and critical technology systems while partnering with a larger field services team to ensure reliable and efficient IT operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting abilities, a customer-first mindset, and a desire to grow their experience across desktop, server, network, and security technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for approximately 275 end-user devices.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral equipment in a Windows-based environment.
  • Support Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 environments, resolving hardware, software, and user-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/software break-fix issues.
  • Perform workstation deployments, upgrades, refreshes, and equipment replacements.
  • Document incidents, requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Assist with support and troubleshooting of security camera systems, servers, and network switches as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain service levels and ensure operational continuity.
  • Manage multiple priorities and service requests in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2+ years of experience in Desktop Support, Technical Support, Help Desk, Field Services, or a related IT role.
  • Hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing devices in a Windows environment.
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and solve technical issues independently.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise desktop environments.
  • Basic knowledge of servers, networking, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience working within government, public sector, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with security systems or surveillance technologies.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in physically demanding or uncomfortable positions when necessary.
  • Must complete required training designed to prepare personnel for working within a secure public safety environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
