Info Security Analyst II - Tier 2 Senior Security Analyst
Location: Santa Ana, California (On-site)
Target salary range: $80,000 - $90,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Tier 2 Cyber Security Analyst to join a Security Operations Center (SOC) team. The core mission is to protect organizational assets, systems, and data against cyber threats. The Tier 2 Security Analyst will create, tune, monitor, and investigate Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) alerts and assist with other SOC functions such as incident response, digital forensics, data loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions. This role is 100% on-site.
Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively monitor security events for networks and systems.
  • Mentor and guide T1 SOC Analysts.
  • Identify, investigate, and report on potential Security Incidents.
  • Support risk and vulnerability assessment at the network, system, and application level.
  • Support cyber metrics development, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Support cyber threat intelligence development and reporting.
  • Support routine identification, development, and implementation of automation tasks.
  • Proactively develop, recommend, and implement security controls and formulate operational risk mitigations.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies.
  • Utilize tools and processes to scan, identify, contain, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities and intrusions.
  • Assist in the implementation of required government policy and make recommendations on process tailoring.
  • Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and recommend additional safeguards.
  • Routinely provide briefings to senior staff.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience are required. Four years of related experience is highly preferred. Additional experience can be substituted in lieu of education.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing security alerts via Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • Demonstrated response, exposure to, and partial or full ownership of Security Incidents.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the full Incident Response cycle: Identification, Protection, Detection, Response, and Recovery.
  • Professional experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Javascript.
  • Professional experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies.
  • Professional experience with IDS/IPS, Firewalls, and Anti-VirAnti-Malware technologies.
  • Professional experience with Incident Response and Vulnerability Management.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred Certifications: CySA+, Security+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or similar industry-related certifications.
Work Environment
This position operates in a 24/7/365 operations center. Workdays will include Saturday and Sunday, with specific weekend days to be determined. Work during some holidays is expected. Shift rotation may occur based on operational needs, and reasonable notice will be provided before any changes.
