Job description


The Security Supervisor oversees daily security operations across the casino property to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This role provides leadership to Security Officers, responds to escalated incidents, enforces policies and gaming regulations, and protects casino assets. The Security Supervisor acts as a key liaison between frontline security staff, surveillance, and upper management while maintaining high standards of professionalism, integrity, and guest service.
Responsibilities
  • Provides superior service to guests by seeking out opportunities to be of service; by maintaining highly visible patrols to ensure a safe gaming experience; by assuring quality support to other departments so that they may serve guests more effectively.
  • Proactively maintains public order, enforcing safety rules, protecting property and assets, and investigating disturbances within the property.
  • Assist the Security Manager in achieving and maintaining departmental goals on assigned shifts.
  • Monitors activity regarding Nebraska Racing & Gaming Commission regulations and company policies.
  • Handles compliance matters related to the Security Department.
  • Monitors incident reports, ensure accurate and effective handling, and initiates the investigation process.
  • Develops, implements and maintains required internal and external reporting procedures. Monitors exclusion list and ensures effective enforcement where appropriate.
  • Familiar with the operation of communications and camera equipment on property.
  • Ability to identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Responsible for ensuring optimal operations and consistent high-quality standards in areas of responsibility during all business hours
  • Achieves desired results in all areas of responsibility through staff development and training programs, established methods, procedures and guidelines to maintain desired standards and high-quality service then monitors results through inspection, evaluation and analysis
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of security staff
  • Oversee protection of restricted areas, cash movements, and gaming assets
  • Communicate with Surveillance regarding suspicious activity, investigations, or incidents
  • Supervisory accountability for Team Members for day to day and long-term operations to include hiring, training and developing Team Members to include coaching, scheduling, mentoring and appropriate performance management up to and including separation
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and Company policies in an ethical manner and empower and require others to do the same
  • Presents oneself as a credit to the Company and encourages others to do the same
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Racing & Gaming license
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 3 Years previous experience in a Security or law enforcement preferred
  • Strong leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills including tact when dealing with difficult customers
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise security reports
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License with fewer than three moving violations (and no major violations such as DUI) in the past 36 months
  • Ability to maintain extremely confidential information
  • General familiarity with investigative procedures
  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors
  • Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports and be able to give court testimony when necessary
  • Must be able to observe, recall, and accurately remember specific details of incidents, individuals, and environments
  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues
    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to be CPR Certified
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects
  • Must be able to be on call for team member situations and emergency instances
  • Must be able to work in an environment subject to variable temperatures, bright flashing lights, and loud noise
  • Flexible to work various shifts to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
