Under general supervision, the Youth Security Supervisor will provide direct supervision, support, coaching, and mentoring Youth Program Specialist on the afternoon shift.
  • Controls the daily operation of the YRTC-Hastings facility.
  • Administers facility rules and regulations to ensure youth on and off campus activities/events are conducted in an acceptable proper manner, including but not limited to, medication administration, youth movements, school, recreation, groups, and meals.
  • Oversees health, sanitation, safety, and security standards of the facility.
  • Responds to and handles crisis and critical incidents, communicating with Administration during non-business hours.
  • Completes disciplinary investigations for validity and due process.
  • Establishes and leads the command center during crisis situations until Administration can respond and take lead.
  • Communicates with law enforcement agencies when needed.
  • Works closely and communicates with other departmental personnel to ensure safety and good order of the facility.
  • Consults with staff on youth behaviors and to identify possible solutions to work related problems.
  • Conducts security searches to minimize contraband at the facility. Completes reports and documentation pertinent to facility operations.

Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in: social work, criminal justice, counseling and guidance, human development and the family, psychology, behavioral health care, education, social/behavioral sciences, nursing/patient care, delinquency prevention or related area. Experience leading, coordinating, directing, monitoring and/or supervising others.
Other: Valid driver's license and high school diploma. This position requires proficiency in English including the ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the language effectively.
Work Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift, 2 consecutive days off each week
