Job Description Overview

Weed Law Group, PC is a growing boutique law firm based in Walnut Creek representing clients throughout California. Our primary practice areas include trust and estate litigation, probate disputes, civil litigation, tax controversies, family law, restraining orders, and estate planning.

We are committed to providing thoughtful legal counsel, strategic advocacy, and exceptional client service. Our attorneys work closely together on sophisticated and meaningful matters while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate Attorney who is eager to take an active role in representing clients through all stages of litigation. This position offers meaningful hands-on experience, including direct client interaction, courtroom appearances, motion practice, mediations, depositions, and case strategy.

The ideal candidate is a motivated litigator with strong writing, research, and advocacy skills who is looking to build a long-term practice in trust and estate litigation and civil litigation. Experience in trust and estate litigation, probate, tax law, or family law is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right attorney in our practice areas.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing litigation matters from intake through resolution, with increasing responsibility based on experience and performance.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies across diverse practice areas like employment law, personal injury law, securities law, and more.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on case progress, explain legal options clearly, and manage expectations professionally.
  • Maintain meticulous case files using legal case management systems while ensuring compliance with procedural laws and court deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits

Our firm offers a starting salary of $100,000–$120,000, depending on experience. Following the 90-day introductory period, attorneys are eligible for a performance review based on factors such as quality of work, productivity, case management, and meeting deadlines. Attorneys may also receive a 20% origination bonus for clients they bring to the firm.

Experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in general litigation with a strong foundation in procedural law knowledge and legal advocacy.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; experience with legal writing and drafting is essential.
  • Prior law office experience involving client communication, legal motion preparation, trial support, and case management is highly desirable.

This position is ideal for an attorney with early litigation experience who is looking to expand your courtroom experience and develop a sophisticated litigation practice in trust and estate disputes, civil litigation, and related matters. Join our team to leverage your expertise in a fast-paced environment where your dedication makes a real difference! We are committed to fostering professional development while providing a supportive atmosphere that encourages innovation in civil litigation practice.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed.
  • Ability to travel to courts, mediations, and other locations as required.
  • Ability to work in a professional office environment and manage the demands of a litigation practice.
