Job Title
Senior Software Engineer - Java Spring Boot & Google Cloud (GCP)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications throughout the software development lifecycle. This role involves building high-quality backend services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.
This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design software architecture, determine appropriate technology stacks, and define deployment strategies.
  • Develop backend applications, APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Create high-level software architecture and application designs.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, designers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Define and implement software testing strategies and best practices.
  • Apply Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD) practices.
  • Improve application performance and optimize development efficiency.
  • Support software security through secure coding practices, encryption, and data protection.
  • Develop user-friendly and interactive software interfaces where applicable.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to improve engineering capabilities.
  • Apply AI-assisted and agentic AI tools to accelerate code generation, improve code reviews, automate development workflows, and support spec-driven development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through responsible AI adoption.
  • Ensure AI-assisted code is secure, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with engineering standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10+ years of IT experience.
  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Practical experience in two programming languages or advanced expertise in one programming language.
  • Proven experience using AI-assisted and agentic AI software engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with spec-driven development.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding, software design, and engineering best practices.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
