Job description

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Resort Director of Safety & Security to lead all safety, security, and emergency response operations at the property. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that effective resort security is about more than enforcement—it’s about creating a safe environment while delivering exceptional hospitality.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll lead the resort’s security team, strengthen safety practices, oversee emergency preparedness, and serve as a trusted partner to resort and corporate leadership.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead day-to-day safety and security operations, including patrols, access control, surveillance, incident response, and emergency procedures.
  • Build and lead a professional, visible, and guest-focused security team.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop security personnel with a focus on service, de-escalation, emergency response, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee CCTV, access control, alarms, key control, and other security systems and programs.
  • Lead the response to guest and associate incidents, emergencies, disturbances, injuries, theft, property damage, and other safety concerns.
  • Ensure incidents are thoroughly investigated, documented, reported, and escalated appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain security post orders, patrol standards, emergency procedures, and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct emergency drills, training exercises, safety inspections, and competency assessments.
  • Oversee resort vehicle and golf cart safety programs, including associate training, inspections, and compliance.
  • Monitor traffic flow, parking, access points, and other areas impacting resort safety and security.
  • Track incident trends, response times, security effectiveness, and other key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as a key member of the resort’s emergency response team and primary Safety & Security liaison to the General Manager during crisis situations.
  • Partner with Corporate Safety & Security, Risk Management, Legal, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.
  • Champion a service-first, safety-always culture throughout the resort.
Requirements: What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible Safety & Security experience, preferably within hospitality, resorts, hotels, or another guest-facing environment.
  • Previous experience as a Security Director, Security Manager, or in a comparable leadership position strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading security teams, emergency response, incident investigations, and safety programs.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality security operations, emergency preparedness, and applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, alarm systems, incident reporting platforms, and related security technologies.
  • Proven ability to balance security enforcement and risk management with a positive, hospitality-focused guest experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
  • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with a commitment to safety, accountability, and exceptional service.
  • Valid government-issued security registration or license as required by applicable state or local regulations.
Why This Role Matters?

You’ll have the opportunity to shape the safety culture of the entire resort. From developing your team and strengthening emergency preparedness to identifying risks before they become incidents, your leadership will directly impact the experience of every guest, owner, and associate on property.
