Job description

Ready to build a meaningful career? A mission-driven nonprofit is looking for an organized, motivated Affordable Housing Assistant Property Manager for their residential portfolio. You'll assist with daily operations, help ensure compliance with LIHTC and Section 8 guidelines, and deliver excellent service to a diverse resident base.

Compensation & Highlights:
  • Compensation: $20.00–$23.00 per hour. 
  • Contract-to-permanent.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:
  • Assist with leasing, conduct property tours, process applications, and help maintain high occupancy levels.
  • Help prepare and process tenant initial and interim recertifications under LIHTC, Section 8, and HUD guidelines.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for residents, addressing inquiries and helping resolve community concerns.
  • Support rent collections, post payments, and help manage minor account delinquencies.
  • Process maintenance work orders and help prepare the property for agency inspections.
  • Maintain organized tenant files and keep the property management system up to date.

Qualifications of the Assistant Property Manager:
  • 1-2+ years of property management or strong residential administrative experience (affordable housing background a plus).
  • Basic familiarity with HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, or Fair Housing regulations preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, customer-first approach.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi, RealPage, or MRI highly preferred.
