Job description

HQS Inspector
Immediate Opening – Start ASAP!
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented HQS Inspector to perform housing inspections and support clients with housing-related services.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct timely and accurate initial, annual, emergency, and special housing inspections in accordance with HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS).
  • Collect and review Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) documentation to ensure accuracy and program eligibility.
  • Coordinate unit inspections between clients, landlords, and care managers.
  • Maintain an assigned caseload and ensure client files, departmental records, and databases are accurate and up to date.
  • Be flexible and willing to adjust office and field days with little to no notice based on departmental needs.
  • Transport clients to and from apartment viewing appointments when needed.
  • Assist clients with moving-related activities as needed.
  • Perform administrative and data-entry duties using computer systems.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Valid Car Insurance required
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work in both office and field settings.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Location: Chicago
Pay $20 an hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am -4:30pm
