Job description

Secretary - Class B - Health Services/Indian Education

Full-Time 260 days/8 hrs/day Secretarial assistance and duties for Student Services & Health Services. Duties include:

  • Process and record payroll for District itinerant Health Paraeducators and itinerant Licensed School Nurses.
  • Collect monthly PARS and submit for reimbursement.
  • Process mileage reimbursement and nursing licensure paperwork.
  • Recordkeeping, filing, answering phones.
  • Process/handle special transportation requests for students who reside in our district and attend an outpatient treatment program.
  • Meeting assistance with arranging space and setup.
  • Arrange and schedule interviews for District Health Services applicants, including Health Paraeducators and Licensed School Nurses.
  • Health Services Staff information - update staff/school directory; update staff contact lists; collect/scan/save Health Paraeducator sub-folder information.
  • Mailings, including mail merge and sending letters to parents/guardians to inform them of the lack of vaccines.
  • Gather information needed to exclude due to noncompliance with immunization rules under the direction of the Assistant Director of Health Services, including an exclusion letter after board meetings.
  • Health Service Forms - Place orders with the printshop; work with the warehouse secretary to update forms information on the distribution center online catalog, and current hard copy forms available to staff and the public. Process orders and requisitions.
  • Monitor Health Services and Indian Education inventory and order supplies.
  • Collection and processing of data/reports, including employee injury reports for the Educational Services Center location; OSHA reports and information; year-end statistical reports and charts for each District site.
  • Equipment repairs - Work with vendor to schedule dates for yearly calibration and repairs, as needed, for: audiometers, tympanometers, audio/tymp, OAE.
  • Contracted School-Based Mental Health Therapists - Complete electronic CEDF for new and resigning therapists; update SBMH therapist directory.
  • Other clerical duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; ability/desire to use computer for word processing, record keeping and information retrieval; good oral and written communication and organizational skills; accuracy and attention to detail; flexibility; ability/desire to work cooperatively with department, district staff and public; ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working in the building.

Preferred Qualifications: An ability to multitask in a busy and diverse environment preferred. Excellent customer service skills preferred. Working knowledge of Skyward, Excel, Word, Access, GMail, and the Internet preferred.

Rate of pay: $21.00/hour. Insurance benefits available for assigned positions of 6 hours or more per day and 194 days per year. Start Date: 7/27/26.
