About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Secondary Market Manager to oversee the execution and sale of residential mortgage loans into the secondary market. This role serves as a critical control point in the mortgage lifecycle, ensuring effective pricing strategy, margin management, and loan sale execution to support profitability and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in secondary marketing, pricing, investor management, and mortgage operations, along with the ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage the sale, commitment, and delivery of residential mortgage loans in the secondary market
  • Own pricing strategy-set daily rates, monitor market trends, and manage pipeline risk to protect and grow margins
  • Serve as the central authority for pricing decisions, including approval of pricing exceptions and concessions, ensuring consistency and fair lending compliance
  • Oversee rate lock operations (locks, extensions, relocks, repricing) and maintain the product & pricing engine (PPE)
  • Lead the Closing, Shipping, and Post-Closing/QC team, driving operational performance and accountability
  • Build and maintain strong investor relationships while ensuring delivery accuracy and execution efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
  • Provide critical reporting and analytics to support business decisions, pipeline management, and profitability
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency

What You Bring:
  • 5-7+ years of mortgage lending experience, including Secondary Marketing, Lock Desk, or Capital Markets
  • Proven experience managing pricing strategy and margin performance
  • 1-3+ years of supervisory/team management experience
  • Strong knowledge of secondary markets (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA/VA)
  • Deep understanding of mortgage regulations (TRID, QM/ATR, HMDA, ECOA, Fair Lending)
  • Analytical mindset with strong decision-making, financial acumen, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Eligible for Annual Performance-Based Discretionary Bonus Program participation
  • Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • This is a full-time, in-office position based in Parkville, MD; employees are expected to work on-site five days per week.
  • Primarily sedentary work in a standard office environment, with regular movement such as walking, standing, and light lifting as needed.
  • Frequent use of computers, calculators, printers, and other standard office equipment is required.
