Job Scope

The Production Supervisor (PS) leads the daily work flow on his/her respective manufacturing cell, oversees the production process, achieves quality and production objectives, and ensures compliance with Quality System requirements and International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The PS promotes World-Class Manufacturing while emphasizing an environment which fosters teamwork, administers reports and documentation, drives support of Company policies and procedures, maintains good housekeeping through 5S concepts, and enforces all safety rules.

2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm - 1:30am

Responsibilities

  • Ensures on time delivery by effectively managing throughput, productivity, and staffing level.
  • Ensures employees in assigned cell are trained on applicable SOPs and WIs, cell processes are understood and always followed.
  • Promotes and supports continuous process improvement activities. Identify constraints and devises mitigation plans to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Collaborates with assigned Process Engineers to standardize processes and maintain a smooth workflow within the work cell.
  • Provides employees with the training and tools needed improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Works proactively with other cells and provides support as needed to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Builds productive working relationships with internal and external partners (i.e. planning, quality assurance, outside vendors, etc.).
  • Supports new product introduction activities as needed to ensure new products are brought online smoothly and efficiently.
  • Performs time and attendance tasks for assigned employees including maintaining accurate attendance records, approving timecards and time off requests.
  • Executes timely completion of annual performance reviews including regularly completing employee scorecards, following up on progress with one-on-one with each employee at least quarterly, and revising and/or adjusting goals as necessary.
  • Performs coaching and disciplinary activities as necessary.
  • Ensures direct reporting employees understand and follow safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years of experience with increasing responsibilities preferred
  • Ability to motivate others to work as a team towards a common goal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated accountability / time management. Must follow through with commitments and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand and complete all paperwork
  • Knowledge of MRP system to be able to enter electronic transactions, SAP experience preferred
  • Self-motivated; able to work with little supervision
  • Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques preferred
  • Reliable, dependable and honest
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of all Acumed products and processes preferred
