DESCRIPTION
IMPORTANT: This recruitment is to be used ONLY to submit an application for "Extra Help" assignments and does not substitute as an application for a regular, full-time position. Submitting an application for "Extra Help" will NOT allow for your name to be eligible for a particular recruitment listed on our Open Job Opportunities page. Note that you will NOT be contacted by Human Resources regarding your submission unless there is an "Extra Help" opportunity for which you are being considered.
An "Extra Help" application will remain on file for six (6) months, and you will not be allowed to submit more than one application every six (6) months. These applications will be stored and constitute a "pool" of candidates interested in a variety of "Extra Help" assignments. If/when "Extra Help" assignments are available, Human Resources staff may review the applications to identify candidates who may be a good fit for a particular assignment.

DEFINITION OF "EXTRA HELP": Employment in an approved classification intended to be less than year-round to cover seasonal peak workloads, emergency, vacation and sick relief, or other situations involving fluctuating staffing. Extra Help shall apply to both employment and to the person. As such, Extra Help employees shall not be eligible for sick leave, holidays, vacations, group insurance, or other benefits except as required by law. Employees hired as Extra Help can serve continuously or intermittently as needed to cover workload, but in no case may the employees work one thousand (1000) hours or more in a fiscal year.
