Job description

Insight FS is headquartered in Jefferson, Wisconsin with 23 branches across the state and upper peninsula of Michigan. Insight FS has 430+ employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 50,000 customers. The cooperative does business in agronomy, agri-finance, precision agriculture, nutrient management, energy, feed, grain, and turf. Insight FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT 

Operates mill equipment to include mixing, processing, loading and transporting feed and other products to customers and other facilities as directed. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Responsible for the manufacturing and handling of all feeds, ensuring proper sequencing of products to produce the correct feeds. 

Assists with inventory and records of all feeds.  

Protects product from damage.  

Maintains proper inventory paperwork at the facility for deliveries and completes physical inventories as required. 

Monitors inventory for current seasonal and daily needs. 

Maintains a record of each batch of feed produced to document a quality manufacturing program. 

Maintains records of all medicated feed additives as required by state law. 

Responsible for keeping the Branch Manager informed of the need for major building and equipment repairs as well as recommendations for annual fixed asset purchases. 

Responsible for location housekeeping. 

Responsible for safe use of tools and equipment and appropriate use of personal protective equipment by all employees at the location and reporting unsafe conditions to the Location Manager. 

Responsible for delivery of products to customers. 

Schedules all major equipment repairs. 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS 

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. 

Performs all other duties as assigned. 

REQUIREMENTS 

Normally requires High School diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years or more of related work experience.  

Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification and Commercial Driver's License. 

Hazmat & Tanker endorsements and Mixer Loader Pesticide Certified & License are preferred. 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. 

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. 

Normally requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). 

  • Continuously  exposed or required to:   

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) 

  • Noisy conditions 

  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures 

  • May be required to work at varying heights  

  • Lift 51-70 lbs  

  • Required to push heavy objects 

Ability to work extended hours when necessary. 

Ability to travel independently and overnight. 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
