Job description

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH:
You'll be part of the Global Apparel Materials team, partnering across Design, Product Merchandising, Innovation, Technical Development, Sustainability, Sourcing, and Manufacturing. This team drives material excellence-balancing performance, aesthetics, and innovation-while shaping product creation across Nike's global apparel portfolio.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Nike is looking for a Senior Textile Developer who brings equal parts creativity and technical precision. This person thrives at the intersection of innovation and execution-someone who understands textiles deeply and can translate ideas into tangible, high-performance materials. They are curious by nature, tuned into trends and consumer insights, and energized by solving complex challenges.
The ideal candidate moves with confidence through ambiguity, builds strong cross-functional relationships, and communicates clearly across global partners. They combine strategic thinking with hands-on development expertise, ensuring every material not only meets performance standards but pushes the boundaries of what's possible.
They understand the full product creation journey-from concept to commercialization-and bring a proactive mindset to every phase, constantly seeking new ways to elevate product and process.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in textile development and/or product development
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Science, Design, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • Deep expertise in textiles and print development, including knits, wovens, yarns, and colorways
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Product Data Management tools; experience with Smartsheet or Tableau is a plus
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:
You will drive the creation and development of innovative textile solutions. You'll partner closely with design and product teams to deliver material palettes that balance performance, quality, and style-bringing new concepts to life from idea through adoption.
  • Collaborate with Design and Product Management to define and deliver textile palettes aligned to product vision
  • Develop materials that meet performance standards while elevating aesthetic direction
  • Partner cross-functionally with Innovation, Sustainability, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to bring materials to life
  • Monitor industry and consumer trends to inform material innovation and seasonal direction
  • Manage multiple development projects, building strategic roadmaps and delivering on deadlines
  • Review and refine print executions, including colorways and application across product
  • Communicate progress and insights clearly to global stakeholders, ensuring alignment from concept through commercialization
