The Account & Product Development Manager is responsible for managing the Walmart ladies apparel account (core brands) while leading the end-to-end product development process. This role serves as the primary liaison between Walmart buyers, internal cross-functional teams, and overseas vendors to drive profitable growth, timely execution, and on-trend product assortments aligned with Walmart's customer, cost, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management (Walmart)
- Own and manage the Walmart ladies apparel account, serving as the primary point of contact for buyers and merchant teams
- Develop strong buyer relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and strategic insight
- Manage seasonal line reviews, item set-ups, costing, and negotiation support
- Partner with sales leadership to drive growth, margin, and category expansion opportunities
- Track business performance, including sales, margin and forecasts
Product Development & Merchandising
- Manage product development from concept through bulk production
- Collaborate with design to develop trend-right, customer-focused assortments at Walmart price points
- Translate buyer feedback, market trends, and competitive analysis into actionable product direction
- Manage seasonal calendars to ensure on-time development, sampling, approvals, and deliveries
Costing, Sourcing & Production
- Work closely with overseas / sourcing to achieve target costs and margins
- Analyze fabric, trim, construction, and MOQ options to optimize cost without sacrificing quality
- Negotiate pricing, manage cost breakdowns, and support margin goals
- Monitor production timelines and proactively resolve issues related to quality, capacity, or delays
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with design, technical design, sourcing, logistics, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution
- Communicate clearly across teams to align on expectations, timelines, and deliverables
- Support troubleshooting and problem resolution throughout the product lifecycle
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in account management and/or product development within apparel
- Direct experience working with Walmart (required), preferably in ladies' apparel
- Strong understanding of product development calendars, costing, and production processes
- Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple seasons and programs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Preferred
- Experience with import sourcing and overseas factory management
- Knowledge of Walmart systems (Retail Link, Miro Board, item setup processes)
- Background in women's apparel categories such as knits, wovens, dresses, or activewear

Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $105,000 - $115,000
