Job description

Rockefeller Center Destination & Experiences brings together everything that makes Rockefeller Center an iconic and essential part of New York City. For more than 90 years, Rockefeller Center has been a place where the city's energy, creativity, and spirit come alive-offering world-famous attractions like Top of the Rock and The Rink, award-winning dining, legendary live entertainment, seasonal programming, and shopping for all ages. It's also home to some of the city's most sought-after event venues, from weddings at the Rainbow Room to rooftop gatherings overlooking Fifth Avenue.

As part of the team, you'll help shape unforgettable experiences at one of the most beloved destinations in the world-where locals and visitors come to connect, explore, and celebrate what makes New York, New York.

Position Summary

The Senior Director of Destination Sales owns commercial strategy and execution across Rockefeller Center's attractions portfolio - spanning global trade sales, OTAs and product strategy, international sales and marketing, and ticketing technology strategy. This role sits at the intersection of revenue generation, account management, and operational infrastructure, and is accountable for driving admissions revenue while ensuring the systems and relationships that support it are built for scale. Given the breadth of the portfolio, this role requires the ability to move quickly and effectively across a wide range of projects and workstreams - shifting between strategic, operational, and relationship-driven work as priorities demand. While the role is anchored in attractions sales and global visitor distribution, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role in evolving Rockefeller Center over time toward an integrated destination sales organization spanning attractions, hospitality, experiences, and commercial partnerships. The role reports to the Managing Director of Rockefeller Center Destination & Experiences.

Key Responsibiilties

1.Global Distribution & Revenue Growth
  • Own global travel trade sales strategy, including reseller and pass partner relationships, contracts, and pricing
  • In partnership with Data team and Revenue Management, lead yield management and pricing decisions across ticketing products, balancing volume and margin
  • Lead contracting for the Sales team, including negotiations and renewal of trade/reseller and pass partner agreements
  • Set annual reseller pricing strategy and oversee the Sales team's pricing negotiations
  • Guide the Sales team responsible for OTA relationships and pricing strategy, ensuring alignment with broader digital marketing and website strategy
  • Partner with Operations, Revenue Management, and Marketing on commercialization of new admissions products, seasonal offerings, VIP experiences, and pass products
  • Work closely with Revenue Management and Data teams on overall product portfolio pricing and strategy
  • Lead an Attractions Sales team of four, each owning their own region and sales vertical
  • Manage the Sales team's operating budget, along with individual team goals across the three attractions: Top of the Rock, The Rink, and Tours & VIP Experiences
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Operations on annual budgets and forecasts across businesses
2.Luxury Experiences & Product Commercialization
  • Lead VIP and luxury-market outreach, contract negotiation, pricing, capacity optimization, and distribution strategy in partnership with Operations, Revenue Management, and Marketing
  • Partner with Operations, Revenue Management, and Marketing to refine, commercialize, and distribute VIP and tour/experience products across direct and reseller channels
  • Partner with Operations on experience product performance and improvement opportunities
3.Ticketing & Commercial Technology
  • Serve as the senior commercial product owner for the Ventrata ticketing platform, defining revenue priorities, channel requirements, and the commercial roadmap in partnership with Ticketing Technology, Data, and IT
  • Identify opportunities within the ticketing platform to drive revenue across direct, trade, OTA, pass, and experience channels, informing business-wide budgeting and forecasting
  • Provide commercial oversight through a dotted-line relationship, while day-to-day platform administration, development, and technical execution remain with Ticketing Technology and IT
4.International Markets & Representation
  • Hold Rockefeller Center's overseas representation offices accountable for establishing and maintaining high-value travel trade relationships in their respective markets
  • Establish clear commercial objectives, KPIs, and reporting that demonstrate each office's contribution to sales and justify continued investment
  • Ensure the offices also support destination visibility through in-market media, content creators, social channels, and trade relationships
  • Lead seven international representation offices - not a direct people-management role, but the top point of accountability for ensuring SOW deliverables are delivered
  • Direct the Sales team to support the offices on trade relationships and market activity
5.Destination Sales Strategy
  • Develop integrated destination sales strategies that maximize commercial performance across Rockefeller Center's owned businesses (including Rainbow Room and its restaurant portfolio), key destination partners and tenants (including The Nell New York, NBC Studios, Radio City Music Hall, FAO Schwarz, and Christie's), and cultural institutions (including MoMA, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and Broadway theaters), creating a seamless sales ecosystem for guests, luxury travelers, travel trade, meeting planners, and corporate clients
  • Lead the long-term evolution of Rockefeller Center toward an integrated destination sales organization enabling coordinated cross-selling across attractions, hospitality, experiences, and commercial partnerships
  • As the organization evolves, assume leadership of the hospitality and private events sales organization (Rainbow Room, Dining Club, Rock Center Venues, owned Restaurants businesses) and maintain strong coordination with Studio Gather to ensure cohesive MICE growth strategy
  • Partner closely with the Partnerships team (sponsorships, brand activations, film & photo businesses) to identify cross-selling opportunities and drive the long-term integration of commercial sales efforts
  • Drive consistent adoption of a shared CRM, common sales tools, and standardized sales processes
  • Drive value to other Tishman Speyer portfolio properties as opportunities arise

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality, tourism or a related field
  • 15 to 20+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience in attractions, tourism, hospitality or destination sales. Experience leading sales across a multi-product destination, attraction portfolio, resort, entertainment district, or similarly complex visitor ecosystem strongly preferred

    • Experience implementing CRM systems and account management tools/best practices across sales teams
    • Experience with private event sales preferred; sponsorships, brand partnership, and/or media/ad sales a plus
  • Business/commercial leadership
    • Financial acumen - comfortable partnering with Finance & Accounting on invoicing, GL allocations, and reporting accuracy; proven experience managing multi-million dollar sales and marketing budgets, including forecasting and P&L accountability
    • Contract negotiation experience - travel trade accounts, technology vendors, and pass/reseller partners
    • Strong project management skills - proven ability to run multiple concurrent workstreams without losing quality on any of them
    • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform pricing, channel strategy, forecasting, and commercial decision-making
  • Global outlook, international experience
    • Experience managing international teams and partner/vendor relationships
    • Additional language proficiency a plus, given the breadth of international market relationships
  • Team/collaboration, change management
    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead commercial organizations through change, integrating multiple sales motions, teams, or business units
    • Track record of driving performance through sales incentive plans, annual KPI and objectives setting, coaching, and other performance management tools
    • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to work closely with core team members across Marketing, IT, Operations, and Strategy & Finance
    • Experience managing or mentoring a team through high-volume seasonal peaks
