Job description

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to support a surgical department specializing in the Operating Room. This contract position plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality care to surgical patients, with a schedule that values both professional dedication and work-life balance.
Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour shifts, 6:30am-5:00pm (flexible on start/end times).
  • Weekday on-call from 5:00pm-7:00am, one day per week.
  • On-call on weekends: 48 hours, one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday).
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Active RN license with strong clinical background in the Operating Room.
  • Demonstrated experience in perioperative nursing, including patient assessment, intraoperative assistance, and post-anesthesia care.
  • Spine surgery experience highly preferred.
  • Scrubbing capability is a plus.
  • Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments in accordance with protocols.
  • Assist surgeons and other team members during operative procedures, maintaining the sterile field at all times.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate patient status throughout procedures.
  • Serve as an expert resource for patient safety and ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage perioperative documentation and support post-surgical recovery plans.
  • Meet on-call requirements with responsiveness and professionalism.
