The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks Seasonal Readers to support the office in selecting a competitive freshmen class by reviewing applications and making recommendations for admission to the university, the South Carolina Honors College, and for top scholarship awards. Readers should be adept at evaluating high school credentials, school profiles, essays, beyond-the-classroom activities and recommendation letters. Additionally, qualified applicants value differences in students' academics and environment.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) is required. Successful applicants will possess strong time management, communication, and critical thinking skills. They should also demonstrate basic proficiency with web-based conferencing technology like Zoom and Microsoft Teams. A willingness to learn enrollment management software applications is necessary. Previous admission, high school counseling or part-time reader experience is desired.
Seasonal Readers should be able to work independently, with a partner and as a member of a larger team. Readers must be able to read for multiple hours in a day and keep both student information and internal office practices confidential.
To avoid potential conflicts of interest, Seasonal Readers may not be the parent, guardian, or immediate family member of a high school student in grades 11-12 who is planning to apply to college (regardless of interest in USC).
