Company Description

The mission of The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center is to serve all youth of Orange County by providing quality outdoor educational programs that instill in them an appreciation of the outdoors and the environment, teach effective teamwork, instruct about the cultural history of Orange County and provide access to the natural resources of the surrounding areas.

This 210-acre outdoor education center, owned and operated by the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America, is located in Orange, California and accessible through Irvine Regional Park. The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center (IROEC) features half-day through five-day academic and recreational programming. Our hands-on approach to outdoor education allows participants to explore the outdoors while developing creativity, leadership skills and a respect for the environment.

Job Description

Maintains and repairs the facility's structure, machinery, equipment, grounds, plumbing, electrical, and/or HVAC systems. Performs skilled trade work, such as carpentry, painting, repairs or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures. Makes periodic or special inspections on the premise to determine the repair work necessary. May work from blueprints, drawings, or rough sketches. Helps to assist with staff work orders, duty and oversight charts for specific areas of the property covering site inspections, janitorial, maintenance, vehicle maintenance and plant care. Organizes the shop and storage areas and assisting all departments when and where needed.

Uses detailed instructions, troubleshoot and repairs equipment and facilities.

Complies with the appropriate permits, regulations, licenses and certifications.

Works with or supervises contractors, seasonal staff and maintenance assistant.

Supervises subcontracted services such as pool maintenance and landscape maintenance.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience in large resort, hotel or country club property, which includes: large landscape maintenance, commercial pool maintenance and building maintenance.
