Job description

Position OverviewThis position is an on-site role; remote work is not available.
The Financial Analyst II - Physician Financial Services supports the financial performance and operational effectiveness of physician revenue cycle functions. This role is responsible for analyzing financial data, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and supporting budgeting and forecasting. The analyst leverages epic reporting and revenue cycle tools to extract and analyze data to support decision-making. This position works directly for the Manager of Physician Financial Services and the Director of Physician Financial Services and Acute Post Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, validate, and analyze data from Epic (Resolute Professional Billing), EMR, and financial systems.
  • Prepare and distribute regular financial and operational reports (daily, weekly, monthly) using Epic and other reporting tools.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts for physician services.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and automate processes using Epic tools and reporting features
  • Work closely with Physician Financial Services leadership, practice managers, and finance teams.

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Experience with Epic reporting tools (Reporting Workbench, Radar dashboards, SlicerDicer, Clarity/Caboodle)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Preferred:

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in health care industry or finance
  • Experience utilizing Strata Decision Technology reporting and financial software
  • Epic EMR experience
