About the Role:
MUST LIVE IN QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY, MD since this is where the majority of work is located. MUST HAVE SOME GARDENING EXPERIENCE -- NOT JUST LANDSCAPING & MOWING GRASS -- AND BE FAMILIAR WITH PLANTING & DEADHEADING. ALL TOOLS PROVIDED! Join our dynamic team as a Garden Technician and playing a vital role in cultivating vibrant, healthy outdoor spaces! This energetic position is perfect for someone with gardening experience that is passionate about gardening and horticulture. You will be responsible for maintaining gardens, ensuring they thrive and look their best. With a focus on environmental stewardship and precision, you’ll help oversee the creation of beautiful environments that inspire and delight. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to use your current skills in gardening, and the use of both hand and power tools while contributing to the beauty of outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities:
1) Chemical free hand weeding with focus on removal of roots with attached weeds.
2) Deadheading spent blooms.
3) Pruning lower level dead branches on shrubs and bushes as well as removing cross branches.
4) Showcasing gardens.
5) Hedge trimming.
6) Unloading topsoil.
7) Applying pre-emergent weed deterrents.
8) Removing existing gardens and individual plants and bushes.
9) Planting new gardens.
10) Using spades, hand pruners, flower snippers, shears, loppers, shovels, rakes, hedge trimmers, blowers and other garden related tools.
11) General seasonal yard clean up of leaves, branches and debris.
12) Loading garden debris into contractor bags or trailer.
13) Watering.
14) Using blower for driveway and sidewalk clean up.
15) Tracking and reporting arrival and departure times.

Requirements:
1) Must possess a United States Social Security Number, a State Issued photo ID and be a citizen of the United States or have an unexpired Green card.
2) Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
3) Must have reliable transportation.
4) Must be reliable and dependable with good work ethics.
5) Must have attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
6) Must be able to tolerate working in an outside environment, temperature fluctuations, working in dirt and mulch, and everything that comes with gardening!
7) Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, twist, bend, stretch, reach above your head with hand tools, and walk distances.
8) Must be able to dig, rake, snip flowers, cut overhead branches, load debris into a trailer and dig holes.
9) Must have the ability to handle a blower, hedge trimmer and other gardening tools.
10) Must have the ability to handle a wheelbarrow and pitchfork.
11) Ability to lift 50 lbs.
