The Township of Pine Community Center is seeking compassionate, dependable and energetic Camp Counselors to help provide a safe, fun, and engaging camp experience for children in grades 1-6.
Pay: $14 per hour
Hours: Full-Time & Part-Time Hours
Shift: Monday - Friday; Variable Daytime Hours
Anticipated Start: June 2026
Duration: Up To 16 Weeks; Summer Seasonal; June Through Mid August
Responsibilities
- Supervises campers and maintains a safe environment at all times
- Leads age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities
- Encourages positive behavior, teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship
- Communicates professionally with parents regarding activities and camper behavior
- Sets up, organizes, cleans, and maintains activity equipment and supplies
- Completes required documentation and incident reports
- Follows all camp rules, policies, and safety procedures
- Assists with check-in, opening/closing procedures, and special events as needed
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old at time of hire
- High School Diploma/GED, preferred
- Prior experience working with children, preferred
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Acceptable Clearances
- CPR & First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain during orientation)
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50+ lbs)
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and carrying
- Work takes place indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
